Energy Prices to Increase Again this Winter

The energy price cap is expected to increase again in October in the UK and remain at this higher level all winter. The price cap for customers on a default tariff will be £1,717 per year from 01/10/24-31/12/24. Typical electricity prices are 24.5p/kWh for electricity and 6.2p/kWh for gas with standing daily charges at 61p and 32p respectively. It is expected that bills will rise again in January 2025 with a typical households bill rising to £1,762.
